A Place of My Own, Zine

'A Place of My Own' is my latest zine, assembled and hand-sewn during covid isolation, October 2020. The zine is a series of photographs taken in 2017, a strange year plagued with a mild depression that I kept mostly to myself. Among many things, I struggled to be creative – and to this my therapist suggested that I show up and take photographs regardless. So I did. I shot and I shot, and even though I felt very little inspiration, the effort was healing and ultimately resulted in this series. The photographs are taken mostly in and around my apartment where I lived alone in Parc X, Montréal.

I sewed the zine in my bedroom 3 years later in Calgary AB, fall 2020 – the prose was also written in 2020. With each zine I add a custom collage. Each copy is different.

The zine measures 5.5" X 7", consists of 42 pages, and was offset printed with Kallen Printing in Calgary AB.
